We’re OPEN! Mahogany Bay Resort and Beach Club Opens as First Luxury Brand in Belize

Mahogany Bay Resort

This was the goal behind Mahogany Bay Village from the start. Before ever setting foot in Belize back in 2004, Beth Clifford, developer and CEO, asked the question: “Could we partner with a country to build the next NEXT traveler destination in the world?”

When two forces collide to synergistically become greater than the sum of their parts — that is the result of Mahogany Bay Village’s partnership with the country of Belize.

Hilton's First Property in Belize Opens in San Pedro

Belize government officials, Mahogany Bay Village developers and management, along with Hilton’s executive team celebrate Mahogany Bay Resort and Beach Club’s first day in business.

This warm December morning, Mahogany Bay Resort and Beach Club, Curio – A Collection by Hilton, celebrated its highly-anticipated official opening. The village was abuzz with local and international press, Belize government officials, and Hilton executives for the resort’s inauguration.

Mahogany Bay Resort represents Hilton’s first property in Belize, as well as the very first luxury brand to establish itself in the young Caribbean country.

Mahogany Bay Resort is currently outfitted with 106 rustic-chic villas and cottages that cozy up to a backyard waterfront. The resort will soon grow to 300 units, with 205 already constructed. The dispersed hotel is set amongst lush green lawns nestled between groves of tropical foliage. Open water access to the Caribbean Sea awaits just five minutes away, where one can explore the Belize Barrier Reef, fish some of the best sea channels in the area, or relax and play at The Beach Club, the resort’s exclusive boat-access-only beach with overwater hammocks and beds, bar, and sundeck!

Mahogany Bay Resort and Beach Club is part of the larger island neighborhood of Mahogany Bay Village, which also boasts the first international Coastal Living Community of real estate for sale with signature customizations, as well as a “townlet” of dozens of restaurants, bars, retail shops, and local lunch shacks. The townlet converges on the Village Green, a community lawn with performance stage that holds weekly farmers markets, whose backdrop boasts views of a picturesque sunset waterway.

Accommodation types at Mahogany Bay Resort range from a studio with open-air shower and spacious porch to a family cottage with two master bedrooms, bunk bed nook, full kitchen and waterfront deck.

The Family Cottage at Mahogany Bay Resort is one of the new Hilton resort’s overnight accommodation types.

It started with a sketch in the sand and a dream of bringing the best global partners together to create a world-class resort village that celebrates the authentic allure of Belize. Today, that dream has become reality. Mahogany Bay Village would like to thank everyone along the way who made this moment possible.

“Legacy is my currency. I measure our success by our legacy. Our legacy today sits with the 310 young passionate Belizeans who will carry our dream forward.”  — Beth Clifford, December 6, 2017.
